Measures we have taken

Accessibility is built into the source of this site rather than added by an overlay. Specifically:

• Colour contrast is gated automatically. Every foreground/background pair in the design system is checked against WCAG 1.4.3 and 1.4.11 on every build, and the build fails on a regression.
• A skip link is the first focusable element on every page, and there is exactly one main landmark.
• Focus is always visible, with a ring colour that changes per surface so it never falls below 3:1.
• Dialogs trap focus, return it on close, respond to Escape, and expose a labelled close control at least 44px square.
• Tabs, menus and filters are fully operable from the keyboard, including arrow-key navigation.
• Status changes — search results, form outcomes — are announced through live regions.
• Authentication fields never block paste, and motion respects prefers-reduced-motion.

Display preferences

The accessibility button on the left edge of every page opens display settings: text size up to 200%, increased text spacing, high-contrast, dark and light modes, a more legible font, link underlines, reduced motion, a stronger focus outline and a larger pointer. Your choices are stored on your own device and applied before the page paints.

This panel is a personalisation feature. It does not make the site conformant — the underlying pages do that, or they don’t. It starts from your operating system’s own contrast, colour-scheme and motion settings, so if you have already configured your machine you should get the right result without touching anything.

Known limitations

• Downloadable forms are PDFs and spreadsheets produced outside this site. Their internal tagging and reading order have not been audited. If a document is unusable for you, tell us and we will provide the content in another format.
• The broker portal authenticates through a third-party provider whose screens we do not control.
• Automated testing cannot confirm that content makes sense when read aloud. That requires a person, and that review is outstanding.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on this site blocked you, we want to know — including what you were trying to do and what assistive technology you were using. A statement is worthless if nobody reads the replies, so this goes to a monitored address.
